High schoolers, are you ready for an adventure? Join us in Costa Rica to help conserve its unique wildlife, specifically, sea turtles! Travel Sparq is excited to announce that applications for our Costa Rica: Culture and Conservation Program for 2026 are now open for students in Central Iowa, closing on July 31, 2025.

This program offers more than just a beach trip; it’s a chance to learn about new cultures and sustainable practices while making a difference. You'll gain confidence, skills, and unforgettable experiences.

Liven up your house with a philanthropic floral arrangement! Travel Sparq is hosting a Build Your Own Bouquet Fundraiser to help fund our Costa Rica: Culture and Conservation Program (CRCC), which focuses on transforming the lives of Iowa high school students!

On Saturday, August 2nd, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., build the bouquet of your dreams with a diverse mix of flowers at Back Alley House Plants (501 Main St.). All bouquets are free-will donations, and we accept cards or cash. We will have some vases available if you'd like one to take home (part of the free-will donation), along with some small pressed flowers.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will support our CRCC program, which offers learning opportunities through international travel to Central Iowa high schoolers who wouldn't otherwise have this type of experience. And while we're talking about it, applications for our 2026 CRCC trip are open until July 31st! Don't miss this chance; apply now! The program is free for families that meet our eligibility guidelines!
